Speedometer stopped working>>>>

Ok,
I had a code for low input from VSS to Ecm, so i lifted the car, crawled under and removed the VSS. I noticed the wires were burnt, so i unplugged it, fixed the wires and installed a new VSS. Now my speedometer doesn't work.

The weird part is that the guy in the parts store said there are 2 VSS's in my car. One for the Ecm and One for the Speedometer. I don't see any other place for another VSS, but i do see another connector the same style as the one i removed from the VSS. I plugged back in the same plug I removed as the other one was taped up because someone swapped out and auto trans for a manual.

Any ideas on why me speedometer doesn't work now??? I fixed the code for low input from VSS to ecm, so now i'm confused about the other plug and what the parts store told me about a second VSS. The speedometer did work before i went under the car. I installed the old VSS again and still not working.

Help please.........................

There's two VSS's that they can be referring to. One on the transmission tailshaft housing, which is for the PCM and speedometer, and the other is on the rear axle housing on top of the differential, which is for the ABS. (Someone else can verify this, because I could swear that my '97 GT had the ABS Speed Sensors on the ends of the axle tubes)

If you unplugged the wrong one, or not, you may have to have it calibrated. '94 was the crossover year from OBD 1 to OBD 2.
