Idleing too high

I have a 95 gts and the idle won't go down below 1500 I unpluged the iac and it runs perfect. Does this mean it's bad or could it be the tps?

Well I plugged up the iac with the tps unplugged and the idle went from 500 to like 800, and it runs so much better. So I think it's the tps now because when I plug it up then the idle jumps to bout' 1500, so I left it unplugged. Is this ok?

well it is very likely that both will have to be replaced at some point, so you might as well start by replacing the IAC, if that fixes your problem, so be it, if it doesn't, look at the tps.

You can probably replace them both for a little under 100 bucks. They're 13 y/o parts, they're not going to perform like they did when new.

Unplugging a sensor and the car running differently doesn't mean it is bad. There are many things that can cause your problem. A bad mass airflow sensor, vacuum leak, ignition timing, IAC are just some of the possibilities. The first thing to do would be to scan the computer whether you have a check engine light on or not. The next thing to do would be to check for vacuum leaks.

Well I don't have a check engine on, maybe it don't work? I don't know I'll just take it and scan the computer and see what happens.

The check engine light doesn't always stay on when you have codes stored in the computer.

It still acts up and idles a little high like 1200rpm. I has a lot more POWER omg so I unplugged my iac and it runs good. I think I'm gonna have to replace it too. In an eariler reply it was said that if I take the iac off my car, leave it plugged up, then turn my key on it should open. Well I did that and all that happen was a click it didn't really move. Does this mean it's bad?
