shock mounting questions

Hey guys i am doing some new shocks on the front and I need some diagrams as to how all the mounting equipment goes, I bought the shock mounting kit and it has some pieces that my car did not have when i took the shocks off. And im thinking that maybe that is the reason of the popping noise on the front, thanks for any help.
