I wouldn't grind the car. I would ascertain whether or not you got a defective part, and if so, send it back and get a replacement.

Did the adjuster screws go all the way through their holes? That would keep you from being able to push it all the way back I'm sure.

Here are the instructions I looked at on their site. You may have already seen them but I'm not sure what they're grinding on in the early steps. That could also be a possibility.

ok that gap is normal for those headlights. dont worry about it. you must dremel out some of the plastic and make sure the headlights are fitting in their spot. (do you understand that?) if its not that then you must fiddle with the posts and angle the headlight at the position you desire and try and get it to work. it will take some time trust me, they are a pain to get perfect. even when they are perfect there might be a little gap or something but it will be more reasonable. just take your time and if you get frustrated just leave and come back to it.

Sure you didn't get the wires pinched behind the headlight?

not unless the wires are exposed. there is about as much chance of that as rain shorting out your stock headlights. you can shrink the gap but it takes patience and a little wrestling with the prongs. to be honest i actually took the whole assembly out like 20 times before i was satisfied with both. it is possible to close the gap you just have to mess with it. are both headlights like that? (they both have gaps or only one?)

I removed the posts (all 3) to make it easier to push it in and remove to see where the issue might be. Behind the back edge
of the turn signal area it is hitting (on both sides of the car). This is
metal and is part of the car. I tapped this area with a small hammer
and it has helped. I may grind this metal section away. This section is preventing the unit from sitting flush in the center. I thought that maybe the car has had some front end damage in the past but the stock lites fit like a glove. Once I can hold it in place by hand and it's flush I wll put the 3 posts back on and allign the lights. There is nothing in the instructions about grinding except
for the plastic area as shown in your photo.
Thanks for responding.

not really, i mean i wish i could show you a picture but unfortunately it is up north. theres like a tiny gap at the bottom of the headlight actually on the drivers side but it doesnt bother me too much and i can hardly notice it. the passenger side is perfect.....at least from what i remember.
