Smoke
I am starting to get some small white smoke when i use the heat. I noticed it this morning. However there is no smoke coming from under the hood. I am having some MAF problems with this new intake I got, so im gonna switch it back to the K@N after work. Could this smoking problem be caused from a bad fliter?

I guess I'm a little confused as to where the "little white smoke" is coming from. Your tailpipes? Through your A/C? Clarify that for me and I'll give you my opinion on what could be happening - oh and I've never heard of an air filter causing smoke anywhere (unless it's over oiled and the excess oil reaches your intake manifold)

Its a 96 mustang and its coolant coming through the air vents . So far the lady i talked to said it could b something called a heater core. The heat works but its puttin a smell that smells just like coolant out the a/c vents. 96 Mustang GT

the smell from your vents should smell like pancakes or even rotten pussy and it would be your heater core, be prepared for the thing to really blow and fog your windshield up something feirce and leave you stranded.

Yeah, probably a heater core problem. If it does burn up you'll know it (mix between a musty wood smell and burning rotted food, lol I know from experience with previous cars) and it sounds like yours is likely on its last life - fortunately a lot of shops offer that kind of repair service for cheap.
If it's not a daily driven car maybe you'd want to get an a/c eliminator kit (underdriven pulleys, etc.) and you wouldn't have to worry about it. But if you're like me you need the a/c in these cold wintery months. Good luck |
