New wheel decision

Hi guys, i'm getting new wheels and going 18X10 out back and 18x9 in front. 265 35 on front and 305 35 out back. I cant decide what wheel to get the 2 im most intrsted in is the fr500 and the bullitt chrome or black? My cars a black 96. Do any of you guys have pics of a black 96-98 with the different bullitts and fr500s on it? Black and chrome. Thanks.

Well, the 305/35/18" tire is 26.3" diameter, so would recommend a 30 series to clear your wheel-well. I run 315/30/18" and is 25.5", so approx. 3/8" additional clearance than your proposed and I have done some rolling of fenders and hammer work inside of rear wells. I have some minor contact on heavy articulation, so recommend you go 30 series in an 18" wheel.

As for wheels..... you are gonna have to do some searching and visualization.

Ok i decided on Chrome Bullitts 18X9 up front and 18X10 in the back. Obviolsy im going deep dish in the rear, will the 18X9 Deep dish fit ok in the front with some 265 35 18s. I know 18X9 fit fine in the front but does deep dish 18X9 fit ok? I like the deep dish all around look.

There are two ways to achieve a deep-dish wheel. The normal way, is to have a wide wheel, say 10" or larger, and lots of width on each side of the center-line, makes sense. The second way is to have the "spokes" of the face of wheel curve inward to give a larger inside lip around the front. That way, you can have approx. 2" of lip on fronts AND rears running a staggered 9" & 10" set-up

Since this is really a subjective thing, you will not always get agreement on what is considered "deep-dish". There are wheels with a model name of Deep Dish, but as long as you like the look, who cares what I, Joe Smoe or the manufacturer calls them.

So it will fit or wont? I appreciate all the advice i honestly do but the American Muscle Bullitts is what im after and the 9" deep dish. Is it the same as a non deep dish with a bigger lip?

Am Muscle is WONDERFUL about fitment guides. If it is this 9" wheel:

QUOTE FROM AMERICAN MUSCLE AD: Fits all 1994-2004 V6 and V8 Mustang models.

Here is the 10" for rear:

QUOTE FROM AMERICAN MUSCLE AD:
Fits all 1994-2004 V6 and V8 Mustang models.
Fits rear only!

If you are looking at Anthracite, Black or White ones, ONLY the finish differs, sizes are exactly the same.

I would have no problems buying the wheels (accept I would go 10"s & 11"s ). One good way to confirm is to look at the off-set/back-space listed of the 9" DD wheel you like. THEN, look at the 17"x9" (no 18"s listed) non DD wheel also rated to fit your car. The off-set/back-space is the same, so you are good as gold.

Now buy those bad boys and put us up some pics already.... were waiting..

Thanks man that was what i was looking for. I will have pics up soon. The only thing im doing that you did not recommend is the 305 35 18 on the back that you said i might have a fitment problem. There is no other big ass tire on their site to put on the back 305 35 18 is the only size they carry in that range. Im sure i can do some modification to make em fit. Im not gonna buy tires elsewhere and not take advantage of the free mounting and balancing.

I would recommend you stay 30 series out back with and 18" wheel and that wide a tire.

I am not sure how lowered you are, but may get some rubbing on hard articulation. You will also find a VERY limited variety of tires in that size. I would stay max 295/35 on a 10" wheel for a better fit, IMO.

Im lowered about 1.5". Im limited to what American Muscle has to offer on tires. if they offered a 305 30 or a 315 30 id get them. Maybe AMNick can get me that size ill PM him b4 i buy if not im stuck with a 305 35
