PI intake w/o crossover
I got a PI intake from a friend that came off his 2000 Mustang GT and was going to use it to do the NPI to PI intake swap but the intake I got does not have the aluminum crossover on it. Will this matter for the install or not. Will post a pic shortly.
Intake is going on a 98 Mustang GT the NPI intake I have on there now has the aluminum crossover

You can switch the crossovers and use the one off of the npi intake

I looked at doing that but the PI intake I have is made all together. There is no way of swapping the crossovers.

If the PI intake has a plastic crossover, your screwed.

^you will be fine for a while but the plastic cross over always splits, thats why they came with the aluminum cross over. Try looking for a 01-04 PI intake at a junk yard.

The 2000 gt and the 2001-04 gt intake is the same except for the aluminum coolant runner.

correct, but a lot of good a plastic crossover will do him when he needs to drill and tap it for a second coolant sensor because he's putting it on a 98

I've did some research and everyone says the 99-00 intakes are pretty much garbage due to them cracking so I figured I will just invest in the intake with the aluminum crossover since I would prolly have to replace it later on anyways.

also if I get a 01-04 intake can I swap the aluminum piece from my NPI intake to the PI intake so I wont have to tap it out?

Yah, if they both are aluminum crossovers, then its just four bolts.. and then you won't have to tap it..
If you have a plastic crossover, you are out of luck. So buy a PI Intake with a aluminum crossover, swap em out, and your set.

definetly would not waste time with a plastic crossover after having the plastic one on my 98 gt spring a leak...
