strut tower brace


are they worth a darn? do they stiffen it up enough to justify putting em on or just forget it?

I've heard it helps. Mine came with one so I can't say how it feels without one.

well i wasnt really able to tell a difference when i took mine off but if it helps a significant amount im gunna throw it back on and get a different cai than jlt. you know what im saying though?

so it gets in the way of the jlt huh?, I don't know, jlt are pretty nice cai. It's up to you, if you don't feel a difference leave the jlt on.

Stiffening up the front end will only make the car understeer worse. Honestly, if you're looking into stiffening up the chassis, do subframe connectors first.

hahaha funny you should mention that but my full length subframe connectors came in today. really it will make it udnersteer? no kidding, ok then no strut tower brace for me then. thanks for the help there

It won't make it understeer, it will just increase the understeer tendency of the car.

Slight semantic difference

The stiffness of the towe brace is good. The stock one on the 97 is shit. Its basically worthless. If you get an aftermarket one, they are worth it. As for the understeer. That is true, but if your suspension is set up correctly, its not an issue. IE: get a new set of sway bars and you will be fine.
