headers + exhaust

i am going to be buying new exhaust pretty soon and was just wondering which aftermarket exhaust had the deepest sound for my 96 GT... and i'm open to suggestions on x-pipes vs. h-pipes.
last but not least how much of an increase in power could i get with installing some headers with the package? what kind should i get?

Long Tube with o/h H pipe will give you that deep sound, you will see about 15-20 HP.

Mac makes a good setup w/ hts coated long tube headers and H-pipe. There header and h-pipes already have the fitings for the o2 sensors , Fit and finish is great . Dont torque em over 15 foot pounds or your heads will strip . set aside alot of time to do it 9 Hrs , walk away alot.

I agree the Mac long tubes, the BBK X-pipe, and 2 1/2 inch Flowmasters make my 96 GT sound and run so much better and its kinda loud...

if you want to do a deep tone, do mac l/t headers, mac o/r prochamber, mac catback. my buddy has this setup and it makes my prochamber and flows sound like crap.
