You checked your plug wires. If any of them or our coil are burned out or messed up, you could be getting a no-fire. The spark plug wire being messed up would result in a grounding of the spark hence the no fire. and if the plugs are going shitty enough, the miss fire will only happen when the spark gets ramped up enough with rpms.

Id still check the wires. If they are not in correctly, or are getting burned up, they could be miss firing.

The coil sounds like it wouldn't be the issue. can you tell if its miss firing, not firing, spark but no gas, or anything?

its really hard to say honestly when it idles you can hear it mostly through the exhaust it has the purr to it then it sounds exactly like it would if someone coughed...then it starts purring again then it starts coughing and you can hear it up in the engine compartment as well....If im driving then come to a stop the idle starts jumping and the exhaust really breaks up then when i pull out sometimes i hit an occasional dead spot but on the highway it runs like a raped ape. It has tons of power pulls hills great. Just breaking up at idle

cleaning iac/egr's doesnt work very well (not egr they dont work at idle, just thought I'd throw that in there) buy a new iac from ford (not parts store brand they are junk) if suspect.

oh ok just though I'd throw that in there. I only run my car when the tracks open ( is it April yet?? ) but I've been using a 180 since that 160 episode with no problems.

Might sound retarded, but have you changed your fuel filter? Or cleaned your air filter?
