where's the noise coming from? your engine? or is it a "ticking" sound?... as that would just be your exhaust cooling.

lol. Yeah whenever a shop tells me I am gonna be charged a hundred bucks just for them to tell me what's wrong, regardless if they turn out to be wrong on their diagnosis, I immediately tell them they are gonna lose a customer who plans on dumping thousands of dollars into his car but oh well.
Rattling like marbles huh? Do you know whereabouts the engine bay it's originating from? (passenger/driver side.. etc.?)

sounds like the very front... like. maybe a fan? i dont know. im just glad its probably something as simple as being loose. You never know, i had coolant dripping on my exhaust, maybe the catalytic converter took it in the tail pipe (damn. im funny) In the morning when i get to school, ill see what it sounds like when i turn it off. hopefully. its either gone, or i can pin point it.

yeah I'm facing the same problems with mine... bought it used so I got it dirt cheap, but I have to do all those little things the previous owner neglected to do (tune up crap, etc...) before going too overboard with mods.
