Purge Valve?! Help!

Code on my CE light says it a purge valve system messed up. I don't know what it is and now if i leave my car running for a little bit it over loads itself with gas and blows out smoke all over the place. I don't have an owners manual and this is the only place where i know where to find this stuff out.

If im not mistaken it emissions related and its under your front passenger side fender... but im not completely sure... could aslo be a fuel tank purge valve to keep the pressure out of the tank...

Its probably the canister purge valve for the evap system. The canister is full of carbon and holds the gas vapors that come off the tank. When the engine can handle a slightly rich condition the purge valve will open and burn off the extra fumes. You probably need a new one.
