New guy with a couple ??

Hey guys, im new to this forum and needed some guidance. I just picked up a 96 GT w/130K on the clock. The guy said the motor is all stock but not the original 96 motor. I compared some pics and its not the 99+ motor and its not the 5.0. Is there a way of finding out what year exactly it is or does it matter because it has to be a 96-98 motor?
Also, can i replace my intake with a pi intake without having to replace anything else? Heads, cam, tb, etc..? Thanks for your help, let me know if i posted right!!

You can check it by the casting numbers...

You can put just the pi intake on your car with adapters...

You defiantely should go ahead and do the head and cam swap when you can...

Did the guy say what year the 4.6 that is in your car came out of?

Actually he didint say. He just said it wasnt the original motor. Where would i find the numbers and how do i cross reference them? I was really interested in slapping on one of those pi intakes i hear everyone talking about!! Thanks man, this is my first 4.6. Ive had a couple 5.0's with bolt on's but this is a lil different.

Snap a pic of your motor for us if you would...

Casting numbers should be on the heads and block...

Easiest way to tell though is by snapping us a pic and we might be able to tell you more...

Ok any luck on finding the casting numbers?

Its using the dist. so you are still running the 96-98 4.6 wiring...But that does not give me anything becuase alot of guys use 99+ motors in the 96-98 GT's with the stock wiring...Theres not much of anything I can tell...

I still cant see if it has the metal crossover tube in the front of the intake or not...

I didnt have a chance to look for the numbers, had a long day at work. Will the numbers be visible or do i have to dig a little? Ill take another look to see if i can spot the crossover tube. Maybe a different angle pic??
