97 cobra questions
i was wondering if you guys could help me decide if i should buy this 97 cobra im looking at. its a 97 cobra in beautiful condition. the interior and exterior are in amazing shape adn look brand new. the car runs and sounds great. its got flowmaster 40 series delta flows on it and it has a new t-45 trans in it with a short throw shifter. it also has a custom cold air intake and it comes with all the stock parts including a k&n intake also. everything about the car seems great and the owner has it sitting on an entire eibach pro kit. the current owner says the original owner had rear end gears put in it but never had the speedometer re calculated so it reads wrong and the odometer is wrong. this is my only worry. the owner has been very honest and straight forward with me about everything thus far as far as i can tell but the milage gauge is worring me. it reads 130000. which if the cars speedometer was never recalculated would explain that. and thus putting the milage under 100000, but im no expert and i just want to make sure that if i do kick out 7000 im not gonna be stuck on the side of the road the first time i put my foot into it. i want it to be able to last and be able to kick ass if you know what i mean. so if anyone has some insight on the matter that would be great

It looks like in the text you're talking $7000 for this little gem. I paid $7500 for a 96 vert last summer but it had brand new 18 inch rims with new tires and a whole buncha new crap on it + 132k but it looks like brand new. The freakin' car is in better condition than I am. Plus it has a Saleen fiberglass tonneau cover.
I saw a 99 Cobra on ebay 1 mo ago that actually was a local car, real piece of crap needed door, fender, paint and was beat to shit, it went for over $6k. Weigh the pros and cons. You got the cash, you like the car? Look at NADA and a few price guides......check ebay, see what they are going for in that condition.I'M NO EXPERT........but if the car has been kept in really good condition, do the math here, you could pay more and get less.

Just throwing this out there to letcha know what I got my 96 Cobra for w/only 60,000 miles... 9 grand. Everything was in mint condition except the driver's seat. &btw 7grand for a 97 seems like a pretty good deal, if all looks and feels well with the car I'd say go for it, forget about what mileage it's got, 100K isn't too high these days
