t5 < - > t45
Hi,
I've a almost new T5 and I want to rebuilt it to be more stronger. Right now, I'm using a T45 in my 98GT but both tranny are almost the same except for the "tail" or the shifter part. I want to know if I can swap this part of the tranny on both of them. I want to use my T45 shifter part or "tail" and install it on the rebuilded T5 Thanks |

Why would want a T5 over a T45? I don't see where you are benefiting yourself.

Bingo!
Whay do you think the 5.0 guys are always searching for other trannies to put behind their pushrod powerplants when they start making HP.

Exactly what are you trying to do? A T45 might last a little while on a blown 450 HP car, but it would probably shit the bed one first run on a nitrous car.

I've a 5.4 4v with some mod and all forged internals, the engine have around 400 hp.
I want to use my zex wet for maybe 100-125 hp of nitrous. |

T-45 will last a while.
If not...give ProMotion a call. They can hook you up with some power handling T-45s. |

you can make a t5 stronger than any t45 and last. the tails arent changeable, you have to get a ket to make the t5 work. you can have the t45 built, i have one and love the hell out of it!

i have treated forks, upgraded sync's, treated input, shift keys 1-4, 3rd gear spacer, and shifts better than any other manual car i have ever delt with. i will go to a 26 spline input later in the year as well. a built t45 will do 700rwhp which is more than most people will ever push.

i wish there was a way for people to drive my car to see a difference. well, i would pull off the nitrous and set a 3500 rev limiter on it first.
