Is it worth it

So I have a 1998 Mustang GT, with quite a bit of mods done to it and probably about 175k-185k miles on it (dont know exactly bc my odometer went out a couple years ago)... I have a son and another child on the way and this is my only means of transportation. It is paid off granted but these are the things that are going on with it right now. I have an oil leak, either from the valve cover or oil pan, probably both though. My A/C doesnt work, and it has refrigerant so Im guessing it is the compressor. I have staggered rims so I go through tires like every 1.5 yrs bc I cant rotate them. And if you read my other posts Ive been having a lot of starting issues. I dont know if I can rely on this as my daily driver anymore. What do you guys think.

^mustangs aren't sports cars..

and to the OP, i'd recommend trying to find a good 4 cylinder as a DD. and if you can't afford to have two cars on your insurance just take the mustang off and keep it parked until you can fix things and become financially stable.

When the car first came out there was only a handful of other cars that could even touch it hp wise. It had horsepower. Just in this day an age its kind of pathetic because it gets compared to newer cars. Compare the mustang to cars that was in its timeframe. You will find that the camaro and firebird where the only other cars that could really give it a run for its money. Maybe a few imports but for its price and power only a handful of cars could actualy touch it.

ya that's what Im thinking too man. I don't want to get rid of it but its to the point now that its not reliable enough for a DD.

i see where you going, but personally i don't consider them sports cars. i'm more towards them being muscle cars

Yeah, if you can afford to get a cheap beater, it would be better to not have to worry about using the mustang as a DD. Mine is my DD as well, and there's times when its tough.

The car dont owe you anything Keep it and park it on the side.

and get your self a nice lil Family car from a Buy here Pay here place. Or there is always a Police interceptor they only go for 3k or so and you know they have been well maintained and you can get them with less the 100k on them still running like a champ.
