brake help!

I have a 98 gt, with usual mods and I'm having some brake issues... evrytime I press my brake pedal, my emergency brake light turns on. It usually used to do it once a month but now it does it all the time. I don't wanna take it to a shop yet, I wanna hear everyones advice and suggestions first. Thanks.

Most of the time Ford cars will flash either the ABS light or the E-Brake light (whichever it is equipped with) when the brakes have noticeable wear. In that case I'd recommend you go to a tire/brake shop and have em take a FREE look-see and check what brake components need replacing.

Also: if there is a loss in brake pressure in either the mastercylinder or the brake lines themselves, more often then not a warning light will come on.

I guess the first thing I'd ask you is have you checked your brakes recently.. or when was the last time you recall servicing them?

Thanks for the advice. That's wat I thought I just wanted 2 see if any one had came across the e brake light turning on thing.....I had them checked 15k miles ago, but now I think its time.....I was actually gonna wait till I got my new wheels put on and then do the whole cross drilled rotors, new calipers and pads but I guess now ima do the brakes first then the wheels.

If you're planning on a caliper uprade, definitely do that before getting a new set of wheels for your car. The reason being is you want to know what kind of clearance issues you may have with the aftermarket calipers before buying the rims you want, otherwise you may get a nice set of wheels you absolutely love, put them on only to find out later that the brake upgrade you wanted won't fit inside your new wheels.
