welcome to the site. let us know an estimate of the budget we are looking at and we can better answer the question.

gears and tuner first. then i would work on your exhaust if you want a good sound. and suspension work if you are serious about racing at the track

I am in the same boat man. Everyone has told me to do a PI swap first as our 98s wont respond as well to exhaust and CAI without it. Is this true?

you will get a significant gain from a pi swap. i would put that at the top of my list along with gears for those year cars

thanks for the advice guys. my budget is more of a getting one part at a time type of thing, and i dont want to buy things i dont need, or at least not yet until i get the necessities knocked out

for the gears should i go with 4.10?

also, This is the first car that im actaully puttin money into and don't know what alot of stuff is. ie PI swap CAI thakn

if you drive on the interstate often i wouldnt recommend a 4:10. 3:73 would be the best choice.
