starts then shuts off

hay guys need your help again i have a 1996 gt auto i i put a steiring colum and now it starts for a few secends and shuts off i hear fuel pump go on when i turn key on any help would be great thanks

p.s. sorry about bad spelling

sounds like the theft system is messed up. did you use your old ignition lock & keys? if not youll need to have that bab towed to the ford dealer so they can program your new key into the ecm

I agree. If your theft light blinks like mad when your trying to start it, its the ignition. You could even have a simple problem and have the wrong key. I have a spare that will unlock the door, fit in the ignition, but not start it because the key doesn't have that chip on the end of it.
