PI heads vs ported non pi

Just wondering if porting non pi heads would be worth it. I have a pair in my garage that a buddy gave me after sellin his car( he was going to port them). I'm thinkin the port and polish would cost about as much as pi's?? Which would giveme more power and how much? Thanks

Ported Pi's and ported non-PI's would flow about the same (and some people prefer ported non-PI's over anything), but the PI's would offer more compression and a better fit for PI intakes. If your choice is ported non-PI's vs stock PI's... I'd pick the PI's.

from what i know ported NPI heads flow damn good. if u go with PIs u wont have to wrry about the coolant passages not lining up. but ported NPI would def put out more hp then stock PI and if your going to spend the $ to port might as well have them up the compression on them to about where the PIs are. or keep them the way they are if ur going to boost the motor
