HELP !! Im confused
So i want to change the trans fluid on my recently aquired stang and it is a 96gt with t45 right ? I have read through several posts on here and most people say to use 3.3 ish qts of fluid on a change , but i found the specs to require over 6 quarts . So how much should i use ? I am gonna use mobile 1 synthetic

well when you change your trans oil you can only get out the fluid thats in the trans. there is still gonna be fluid in the tq converter. so 3.3qts is about right. but if you want it all changed take it to a tranny shop. they have a system that pumps all the fluid out n pumps in the same amount at the same time!.

a t45 is a stick isnt it. so no torque converter so 3 qts of royal purple will be good.

Yes you do have a T-45 if its manual. The manual doesnt have a converter and you cant flush it with a machine because it doesnt use line pressure. I bought 4qt's when i did mine and i used Mobil 1 as well. Quick tip, recommend getting a short throw shifter with it because changing the fluid is a tight squeeze and trying to get it in sucks with a bottle unless you buy a fluid pump.
I took my shifter off and took out both drain and fill. Drained it, then put the drain plug in and then poured the fluid through the top of the tranny where the shifter goes and then let it drain out the fill and then put the plug back in and installed my shifter. Very simple. Good luck
