20's are generally too big. you end up with the car too high off the ground and the ratio to the wheel well looks off. There are some exceptions. Some of the wheels and some body kits make them work, but its definitely a judgement call.

They will be heavier so they will hurt performance and efficiency. And as you can see, most "mustang" people will scoff at you (unless they can't tell). As long as you don't have to lift your car. I think it should be ok. At stock height, I had a set of 19" Volk wheels on for about 10 minutes to see what it looked like. It was a little big in front, but in back it looked pretty decent. Keep in mind, these were some pretty nice rims.

These were from my buddy's 350z. Same bolt pattern and offset so we tried it out. Plus Gold on Gold LOL!

17's are the best for me 18's are pushing it I think. I highly suggest with a black on black 98 GT LIKE MYSELF you go with black bullits with the chrome lip 9's up front and 10.5's out back deep dish of course When I get my 10.5 bullits in the back i'm getting them widened to 11's muahaha.
