??Mods + Diablo Chip
Hey guys, so i find out that i have a Diablo chip installed. My question is, can i start modding without having to mess with this chip or remove it? My car is bone stock with the exception of a spec clutch and 4.10's. Would i have to reprogram this chip when all my mods were installed?

No, you won't have to. You won't lose any power from having the chip, so I wouldn't worry about it. Besides, if you said that your car is bone stock, the only thing that would have been altered with the chip is small things like idle rpm and turning off the governer and rev limiter or oxygen sensors. I think you'll probably have to remove the chip to the factory tune to install any new tuner in your car, unless you can get your hands on the same tuner that was used in the first place. I may be wrong about that, though.

nope.....1st if you plan on getting any serious mods ie l/t headers, cams etc you would HAVE to have your comp. programed for it! the best bet is an X Cal 2 tuner. and 2nd the dyno places use chips and programers to tune your car to excatly where it needs to be. so if thy have the right equipment they can just use your diablo.......hope this helps

Just to tell you, putting it on a dyno is going to be way more expensive than getting your own programmer. On the other hand, if you get your own programmer, you might have to possibly get your factory tune back a dealership, first. Also, with programmer (tuner), you won't get the same effects as a tune on the dyno, unless you do what I did and get a custom tune.

the tuners perpious is to tune you car just enough that it wount hurt your car driving it around with the new mods such as a supercharger for awhile then you would have to take it to a dynotuner to program further to get the best possible tune.
