Best lowering Spring
Hi everyone.
I wanted to see if anyone knew or has had any experience with a good set of lowering spring. I'm looking to lower my car but not feel like my car is going to fall apart everytime I hit a bump. Can anyone give me some ideas witch one is going to give me the best ride and lower my car nicely?

What kind of drop do you want? 1" or 4" alot of options in between there.
What kind of driving do you do? Grocery getter show car, or all out racing track car? What size wheels do you have? What kind of ride do you want? Super smooth cadillac style, or more sports car slightly rough feel? Do you want to buy new shocks as well? All of these things require compromise. Best handling is not smooth, super smooth handles like shit. Lower looks better but bottoms out, Stock height never bottoms but looks like Poop. Check out the chart I have posted in my guide of springs. This will give you an idea of the stiffness of the springs and the ride quality. Tell me exactly waht you want, and I'll give you some options. A good spring for me is not a good spring for you. Know what I mean? I know girls who have ridden in my car and say it makes their boobs hurt, and I know other girls that said it was awesome cause it turned like a rail car. Everyone is different.

(im kidding i dont mean to hurt your feelings...i have ADHD and the concerta just recently wore off)[/QUOTE] Lol! ADDICT! thanks for the props. I knew a guy with coil overs that had 800 lb/in springs. our friend (huge boobs) HATED his car. She said her boobs would be sore after riding in it for more than like 5 minutes. AS far as the H&R's go. They are a very good quality spring, however, they are decently stiff. Do you want the stock feeling comfort level, better? Or do you want something that is a little stiffer? Also your price range will make a difference. The H&R cost a little more, but are worth it in my opinion.

I personally think H&R are some of the best springs out there. I think a great set up would be Bilstein HD shocks/struts and H&R Sport springs. That will be about a 1.5" drop and really good dampening. They will be stiffer but not too stiff.
A slightly cheaper set up would be the Eibach Pro-kit shocks and spring. This kit is a good kit, not amazing but not expensive either. The lowest kit I would say to go with would be some sort of steeda/pro-kit/sportline spring, with a set of Tokico Blues. The Blues are a good slightly better than stock shock that will support the lowering of the springs you choose. It is only with the better springs that you would want the better shocks. H&R springs are pretty nice, and would work better with nicer shocks. If you don't want to jump to that set up yet the pro-kit is a great well balanced set up that alot of people recommend. If you want to go even further, You could go to a set of coil-overs. These are about $1500 all together, but you won't ever need to buy sway bars. Coil overs are really the best of all worlds, better wheel rates (more comfort and better handling) as well as height adjustability. The only down fall is it costs a little more. I have it all spelled out in the Guide I wrote.
