starting noises

my car started making noises but its only when i start the car. its the the normal sound of the clicking when the starter is firing. it is a new noise and its very loud, and somewhat hard to describe. it almost sounds like a higher pitched clicking or something. i will be able to describe it more when i get home but can anyone think of possible things it might be?

The only thing i could think of is the flywheel. Buddy's truck did this before. turned out the flywheel was snapped or something like that and would spin freely from time to time.

that could be but ied expect the car to shake....maybe the oil powered hydrualic timing chain tensioners are wearing out and its time for new causing the timing chain to be slapping a little my car does this to but im not worried it can blow the 5.4l should hopefully be done this week. but im not saying its gona crap can your car but unattended to in the future it can....idk why but 4.6l timing kits are expensive i got my 5.4l timing kit for 190 bucks with new crank sprockets chains tensioners tensioner arms and guides but they want 400+ for a 4.6 ;x wtf lol

i say flywheel because his truck didnt shake or nothing. Just sometimes would spin freely when being started.

ok i tried it a few times at work. it sounds like an asthmatic metallic sound. almost like when you have a chest cold and you wheeze but throw in some metallic-ishness to it.

oh mine sounds like valve chatter right on startup then it slows to about a 1/2 second between each chatter then when warm goes away completely
