PI heads will have the oil neck filler on the passenger valve cover...Non PI will be on the drivers side.

it is on the driver side. but could the stock npi valve covers be put on pi heads? the guy i got the car swears they are pi heads or a complete pi motor. thats why im looking for casting numbers on the block or heads to i can tell 100% without removing my valve covers.

yeah i had the same problem, i had nPI valve covers on PI heads. I saw a sticker on the side of the head that said something like "FORD 2v PI 4.6" with a barcode under it but that was with the engine out of the car. idk if u can see it with it in the car. Casting numbers will be hard to see as well. idk man.
