speed limiter?

i just put gears in my 98 and i am still waiting on my speed cal to get everything adjusted. when i am doing around 90 my speedo says right around 120 and thats when it starts to cut out or seems like it is lacking fuel. its bone stock excpet for the 4.10's and exhaust. i never have heard of anything like this just wondering if any of you have thanks.

yeah you have a speed cutout it will make it seem likes its missing or dies and slows down or just kinda holds rpms and wont move cause ur ecu is seeing that 120mph not 90 granted ive had my 97 up to around 135ish.... although when i get it tuned with the 5.4l next week no Speed cutout no EGR setup no PATS no rear 02s will be there ;>

yeah i was doing some research and found that the 98's with 16 inch wheels have the stupid limiter on them. so looks like i am getting a tuner to get rid of that.

i think mine has a tuner on it... cause when i was testing the acceleration, i decided to take it to the limiter which i thought was set at 115... well, to say the least i was going a good 10 over that before i said screw this and slowed down. (mustangs handle sooo much more different than stealths at high speeds.)

stock suspension on GT's kinda blow. I got pretty nervouse around 120 in mine.

yeah, my stealth did 130 and felt like i was only going 70-80. when i was going around 125 in my mustang... ugh, i didnt feel like wrecking my baby. so im going to wait till i can put all new race suspension in it. and see how it feels then.
