Help - Quick Question!!

I have a chance to get my hands on a 99 Cobra my uncle wants to get rid of. My price is $9000 w/60K bone stock all original. Should i do it or keep on with my mods for the 96?? Im not sure how much id be in the hole to even match the same hp. I was planning on pulleys, intake/cam, tb along with a good tune for next month.
What do you guys suggest?? I read there was some flaws with the 99's. Im stumpped!!!

I don't know about the flaws, I've never read anything. BUT...I have a '96 GT convertible and I love it, however if it were me and the Cobra were in excellent shape, I'd be goin' for it tomorrow. It's just too much for me to pass up, and my car is mint....

I got some good info on this for you. Believe me when I say get the Cobra. I a freak when it comes to Cobras and I would absolutely die to get my hands on a 99. That year Cobra has 320 hp. Your car has 215 hp. Big difference there. Just like you said you're going to spend a lot of money to even match the hp that that Cobra has stock. Just think of what you can do spending the same amount of money on the Cobra starting off with 320 hp. With that in mind, the price for that car is very, very good. This is what I got off of Kelly Blue Book at private party value for a 99 Cobra.
Excellent
$11,065
Good
$10,370
Fair
$9,435
The price for that car is a great deal! At a dealership, you can expect the price to be way above that. Jeezus man, I bought my Cobra from a dealership for $13,000 with 60,000 miles. That's a frickin rip off compared to what you can get. BUY THAT CAR! If you don't like it, you can always sell it for more than $9,000. Believe me on it.
