96-98 svo heads?

I saw some heads on steeda's website that are direct bolt ons and aren't pi, i'm guessing they're svo? Are they any good? Does anyone have any experience with them?

They are by far the best cast head and outflow most any ported NPI or PI staright out of the box. If you have the money get them, you will not be let down.

My original plans were to use the SVO's but a set of VT st 2's fell in my lap cheap so i went with them. Sometimes i wish i passed on the PI's and stuck to my plan...oh well, next 2V i build will have them.
They are the best 2V head by far!!!
If i'm not mistaken Renegade Racing is getting up to 280cfm from their P&P'd SVO heads.

Sorry to bring up my old post but I was wondering what intake would you use with these heads, npi or pi or either? And do these heads take well to supercharging/turbo(s)? Thanks

You can us a pi intake, svo, bullitt or whatever with a little work. The best by far head for a 2v modular, however porting is suggested to best suit them N/A, blown or turbo.

Ok, so SVO heads for a NPI Mustang are 950.00....

How well do the SVO heads flow compaired to PI heads which you can get forf 350.00-500.00 with intake.

How well do SVO heads flow and compair to NPI heads, ported and polished and some good head work ?

And how much is the Ford racing intake?

Anyone know of anyone using the SVO heads with the Ford racing S/c ? Factory pulley and upgraded pulley ???

yea and also you have to use the Ford Racing Intake, the PI wont fit. The rep, Mike, told me that you'd be better off with the PI heads unless you are loaded. And that they are worth the money, but ported heads will most likely suit the appplication

So with these heads being bare, that means that I would need to put in new vavle springs, my old rockers, and then the valves correct? Or does it come with valves. The only benefit of using these is that the compression is still low at the NPI heads.

WOW I thought it was 950 assembled. And since you have to use the svo intake...that's another $1500 or something. I guess it would probably put pi heads and get different pistons to keep compression low.

You are getting ripped if they are not assembled, I have bought two sets bot assembled. Unless he was refering to the fr500 4 valve heads as they require the valve set as well. As for the flow, out of the box the svo flow as much as most of the ported P.I heads (220 intake 185 exhaust) and also have a much higher port velocity. The P.I, bullitt or any intake can be used the same way they can on a npi.

Casper, I had the turbo car make 85 more rwhp with ported SVO over a set of race ported P.I. You have to take care in porting these heads they are sensitive to porting, a little to much work in the wrong area and the are horrible. You have to have them ported to suit what you intend to use them for, blower, turbo and N/A are all different portwork. On my n/a engine out of the box they made 45 additional rwhp on a bolt on car with a P.I intake.

OK I was just going by what I was told by Steeda, and Matt they are just the heads, no springs, retainers, locks, valves. Give Steeda a call but this is what I was told

Thanks! No way I am going to be able to afford that unless I convince my dad that it would be a fun and great father son project, then he will pay for it all. And I am actually getting pretty close to him saying lets do this. But my mom would flip. I still think I am going to call steeda and get more details!

Does total performance have a website, and when you say assembled, do you mean with springs, valves, rockers, and everything. I really apprechiate all the questions you answer for me.

Oh okay then, the unassembled price was a little scary for me but that assembled price is about the same price for a stage two VT heads w/o cams. Ive looked on the interenet for total performance in MI, but i cant seem to find them.
