PI swapped 98 gt dyno

took my sons 98 gt to DTP racing in chesapeake VA for a dyno tune. 298/315. video link below

Hitech stage 2 cams, full pi swap, upper plenum, tb, mac exhaust, bassani h with cats, stock manifolds stock , air intake, 3:73 gears

and yes he is a great kid and paid for this own his own as well. I could not of hand picked a better son.

How many miles on her? did you degree the cams? What did u gap the spark plugs at?

80k miles on the motor 144k on the car. spark plugs gapped at .50 nope we didnt degreee the cams we just dropped them in.

Hmm. My tuner told me to gap the plugs at .34 so i wouldnt have detonation at higher rpms. Do you think this could cost me hp? I didn't degree my cams either.

Your son has one nice 1998 GT!! Tell him i said he should be very happy with his numbers!! If you put longtubes and jlt cia you should be around 315hp to the wheels.

Nice Job!! thoses are the numbers i was hoping for now we need to both go to the track!

the plug gap could be costing you some not sure tho mine is at .50 and the car was taken to 7k rpms and nothing happened. your car put up great numbers too. every dyno is different

Plug gap could absolutely NOT cause detonation. Where the hell did he come up with that concept?

Haha I have no idea. Should i regap them back to .52? Will that help? Also sweet35th what should i do about my idle, he couldn't even get it below 950. We repalced the IAC is there anything else i can do? I want to hear my cams better.

I would regap your plugs and check your upstream 02 sensors. we had one bad upstream and it was affecting the idle. the car idles at 750 now with no issues at all. sounds awesome.
