Clutch Time?
Well this is not for my car, but for my friends Scott's car that is in my garage in pieces right now... i was putting the clutch and flywheel on today, when I looked close and saw this....
![]() ![]() ![]() So i don't know much about these clutches in these cars, as its been a while since I seen one... Does that need replaced? I personally think it does, but want a second opinion, before I go and spend 400 bucks for a new clutch and a turning of the flywheel that is not my money... I have permission from him to spend the money and I will be paid back from Scott, but I am not sure. What are your guys thoughts?

it looks good to me from the pics, there is plenty of room till it gets to the rivets. if its a stocker, i would just go ahead and get a good one. there are plenty of burn marks on the pressure plate to make me think its time to replace.

It's a spec stage 1.... The flywheel and pressure plate are hot spotted pretty bad.... I'll have to call up Scott and see what he wants.

might just surface the flywheel, and maybe scuff the pressure plate. and tell him to learn how to drive it right.

I enjoy driving my pickup as a manual when I have the trailer on it, but would not mind an auto in it....
But I was thinking, take a newer 5 speed automatic with a small convertor in it with two tranny coolers. Put a manual valve body in it and see how that would work on a road course. No more missing shifts ever. Something I may do eventually.
