throw out bearing

so i've been through this problem once before.. (dec 07) when i bought the car, it needed a throwout.. so we put in a spec clutch and spec tob.. well after the new engine was in there, the TOB squeals ALWAYS unless there is a little pressure on the clutch.. if i barely stick my foot on it, it stops..

I'm going to try putting a weight of some sort on the pedal and maybe it will keep it from squealing..

also, is there anything i can try to spray on it (through the cable cover) that will help it out? ill put a clutch in it probably when i got the money..

Spec Sucks,My Spec TOB Broke in half with in 5 miles of use,And I don't know where you got this idea of hanging a weight on the clutch pedal but thats the worse idea i have heard,Its just gona Wipe the TOB out faster. But what ever makes you happy

I dont know what you have in your Mustang, but whats a good replacement TOB and Clutch for a stock GT? Just the ol FOMOCO parts? or is there something good aftermarket that better worth the money?

Its sounds like it needs to be adjusted I would buy an adjuster first you will love it, you can get this MUSTANG 92 94 95 96 97 98 CLUTCH QUADRANT FIREWALL ADJ:eBay Motors (item 290340618622 end time Aug-26-09 14:15:44 PDT)

and theres a vid on AM on how to install it but before If I were you I would watch the vid first then inspect the cable and buy the whole kit its still cheaper than 100 from AM......

The oem, or a reputable stage 1 clutch, theres different opinions on this but I will go with a centerforce ..... also some people recommend the oem tob.

That's what im wondering.. because when the pedal is touched, the squeal goes away, but if there's no pressure on it, it squeals.

dont ever use aftermarket TOB (TOB= Throw Out Bearing) the best one that i found to be is the FRPP TOB (TOB = Throw out bearing)

Buy a 30$ adjustable cable, don't mess with a firewall adjuster. Tighten the cable up to put a touch of pressure on the cable. Or do it the right way and replace the TOB

It is best NOT to have the bearing running all the time.

I realize that Ford designed the TOB to be continuously running, but it will fail sooner that way. I am guessing that the bearing is VERY close to the pressure plate, but not in full contact. The sqealing is likely just a single spline rubbing on the bearing in a particular spot upon each revolution.
