So Basically I got a Prob.

Ive been answering some questions for some of yall. so now maybe you can help me lol. I think im having a fuel problem. it started with this; i start my car when its cold outside and it tries to die the first crank. then after that its fine. Now its trying to die everytime im at idle. even after ive driven it a while. i have to keep my foot on the gas to keep the rpms up. any help would be greatly appreciated. My IAC has been changed and I do have a dirty air filter if that will help with figuring out the prob. could it be EGR? Thanks

I don't know what your problem is, but my uncles car did the exact same thing. He never did figure out what the problem, but his engine ended up dieing on him not long afterwards. My advice is take it to a shop as soon as possible!

I had the same prob with mine. Turned out it was the IAC. How long ago was the it changed? Could possibly be faulty. My buddies car is also doing the same thing, isnt the IAC. We're working on it this weekend. If we figure it out Ill let you know what we did and maybe you have the same prob. ( or vise versa)

thanks man that would be great. im workin on mine tomorrow also. im gonna go to ford. my buddy works there so ill let you know if i find out anything. hopefully it wont be a hard fix. i hopin for an EGR. im pretty sure if the EGR goes bad and gets stuck open it causes a rough idle and causes the car to die.

could be a number of things. Check fuel too. Could have a bad regulator. But the Iac usually goes and cause stalling issues. Alot of stuff you should check before asking though. Vaccum leaks? Clogged air fitler, or just a little dirty ? Also have you replaced the fuel filter any time n the past?

I agree with casper check your vacumm fuel pressure check the regulator for fuel pressure, also one thing that wasnot mentioned is to check the IAT sensor this sensor checks the temp of the air and helps adjust your fuel and aur mixture, u can check this with a ohmeter.

The MAF would give you a no start if something got on the hotwire. And if you could ever get it to start, no matter if you gave it gas or not it wouldnt stay running. If something was in the way of it, say leaf of whatever...it would start but run shitty and want to die. Also when giving it gas it would die down and wanna quit.

If you suspect youre MAF at all, just take it out and clean it. Doesnt take much time at all, remove the 2 torques screws holding it in and use elec. parts cleaner until you get the 2 hot wires clean. I always like to disconnect the battery for the entire time, so i can let the KAM reset and start fresh.

i found the problem. on the opposite side of the throttle cables on the throttbody there is a hole on the underside below the bottom right hand bolt. its a vacuume leak. any ideas on what goes there?

yea its under the throttle body above that injector you can see in this pic. there is a hole with a plug in it. i think its called a retard port. the hole runs virtically up into the throttle body.the plug requires an allen wrench, it had came outta mine and was causing a vac leak. luckily i found the plug beside my intake manifold
