idle surge


i just put a set of comp cams stage one and ever since my car idle surges for like 5 seconds then it idles fine.. i was wondering that i might need a tune to fix this.. and all vacum lines are fine..

Yes you'll need a tune. It'll get alittle better after driving it a bit but you still need it tuned.

I would recommend going dyno tuned insted of handheld.

definatly a dyno tune with a major mod like cams

yeah but a custom tune with a hand held tuner will work just the same won't it? I know it won't a be as good though...

the handheld tuner cannot do all the things a person tuning the car ona computer can do. the handheld only works on a few of the parameters, where as the tuner can adjust everything

My cobra use to do that. Tune helped.... I was also told if it does it again you can clean tour idle air control valve with carb cleaner.... Dont know if that is completely right...Just what i was told......
