Why, would you do that to an authentic saleen? UNless yours is a clone?

[QUOTE=ChrisJ;2383113]The bumper can be faked...EASILY...

Yes, you can buy numbers from ebay for cheap...... I've got a saleen clone also..... The hardest parts to find are the 150mph saleen gauges.... There are plenty of 200 mph gauges from the 99-04 saleens but none from the 96-98.....

some day, when im able to find a job... and after the suspension and engine work is done, i want to paint my car a darker shade of red and get a hood scoop, rear window louvers, 1/4 window scoops, side scoops, and have all those black, along with painting my spoiler black. and maybe some racing stripes. i think it would look badass.

I would have to check a chassis number and a block number for verification...

And do remember that as 1 of 5, *any* modification you make will instantly devalue that car. If you make mods, keep the stock parts, and if you ever go to sell the car, return it to stock and sell your mods separate.

NOPE, it's 100% SAleen authentic.

Or at least it was when I bought it. Now it's modded so I guess it's not 100% anymore. The Saleen's have a higher value, but it's very hard to get that for it when you sell it. They are not nearly as rare as they once were.

For mine, The Saleen mods consisted of a new set of progressive rate lowering springs and new struts and shocks. They also put in a beefed up front sway bad and added urethane bushings to it. ( All that together is considered a RACECRAFT suspension.) Other than a set of 3.55 gears, a Borla catback system and some pretty Saleen logo'd plug wires there were no power improving mods from Saleen. The put on some real pretty speedline wheels that cracked like almost every other set of speedline wheels they put on did. Added a set of fiberglass side skirts, ( that broke like most all everyone else's thus causing saleen to swith to the current urethane ones.) door fillers and a new front and rear bumper ( fascias, as they call them ) along with the graphics, spolier and some really cool serial plaques and that's all there was to it in those days.

Now of course, Saleen's are a whole new ball of wax. What with there own brand of superchargers and stroker options and specialty engines and all.

Of course, Steve Saleen no longer has anything to do with it along with all the other founding members. He has started another company, SMS.

Sounds pretty badass to me. I would like to get the optional S351 hood for mine while they still have some. Bitch is $575+shipping though.

They go anywhere from 25-55k on ebay quite constantly now a days. The 55k one I saw had like 52 miles on it, still had the interior wrapped in plastic and was in brand new showroom condition.
