i think the problem comes from the bulb being closer to the plastic or something like that and now that i think of it i may be wrong. for instance if you think the halogen bulb is like 3-4 inches away from the plastic where our projector is like 1 inch from the bulb. so my guess would be that due to the closer proximity of the bulb to the housing or whatever the heat, even though is lesser, still melts the plastic.

i wish i could give a definite answer as to whether or not projectors could be used with HID's but i just cant. it would be really cool to test it though but i doubt anyone here would want to do that and risk frying their headlights.

I doubt that they would sell them with the assemblies if they didnt know if they would work together. If they didnt people would be returning them like crazy and the seller would have a bad rating.

My projectors came with an h3 halogen bulb. I just ordered an 5000k H3C kit for the low beams and a 5000K HID kit for the fogs.

Alright, I got the HID's in the fogs now and they look good. The seller sent 3000k instead of the 5000k I ordered for the low beams which is pretty yellow so Im just sent the kit back because I put the 3000k's in there just to see if the projection pattern changed and it didnt. Although they are brighter the pattern is still really narrow so im just going to get some smoked stockers on the 1st and slap some HID's in there. Sealing the headlights with clear silicon will prevent the condensation issue. I sealed mine and havent had any condensation issues and I wash the stang every weekend. I love the one piece headlight look so I wish they had a better light output pattern. I wonder if those smoked headlight covers are illegal in cali. I cant afford another ticket. I got a ticket for a u-turn in a business district at 0400 when there was nobody on the road, except for the police officer of course, and it cost $273.00.

I have these same style headlights in my 2000. I just put them in today and put 10000k HID's in both headlights and brights. My light cut off line is TERRIBLE. I'm 6ft tall, and I can barely get 10ft away from the car before the headlights are shining me right in the face. I'm going to try to see if I can move the projector lens down, so I can not blind everybody when I drive.

As for the brights... I am so disappointed in them its ridiculous. The light I'm getting out of the brights isn't even as good as the projectors.... its just shining everywhere. This is because of the brights and headlights not running at the same time. When I hold the brights on, they are bright as can be... but still blinding to other drivers.

Not sure what I'm gonna do yet, but I'll keep you informed

These are the headlights I have and when I first brought the car home I thought they were terrible. I found out that on the back of them are some tiny bolts, I don't remember what size but take a socket and depending on how tight or loose you have the bolts affects where the housing actually sits, and so, affects where the headlights project at.

Also when I first got the the car the headlight beams cut off at different lengths and were completely different shaped from one another. After pulling it apart and examining it discovered that the H3 Bulbs in it were for one, complete garbage, and replaced them with some Phillips bulbs from Napa that worked great.

I also discovered that there is a little divet in the metal collar of the bulb, and that the divet has to line up with a nipple on the collar of the headlight housing. This keeps the bulb in there straight and projecting through the lens properly.

Screw the other drivers, you just dont use the brights when someone is coming the other way or if you are behind someone. If i can, i want the freakin light of day coming from my high beams, and i WANT it to shine everywhere.
