4.10's will help your 0-60 alot. Just keep in mind that alot of people tell you to do all kinds of engine mods and never work to make the suspension better. 0-60 can get better from suspension upgrades alone. My stock intake/head/cam npi ran high 13/low 14 all day. Mods were off road h pipe, frpp shorties, pullies, underdrive pullies, tubular k member, jlt cold air, 4.10 gear and rear upper and lower control arms. This was on a set of street tires with only the spare tire and jack removed, I was able to cut 1.90 60' times.

Lift the rear tires off the ground, leave car in gear or apply e brake, rotate driveshaft by hand. If it is bad you'll have play or you will see excessive movement in the joint. Also the 500 mile rule only applies to bearing replacement, I have 30000 on my gears and beat the snot out of them from the minute they were installed, whinning is from a bad installation.

boomer, can i run your setup of mods on my 96 gt?

And is there anything I need extra to make the mods work?

I want to go with the setup you listed basically.

Give me some good detail name brands because im going to try order it all offline then find a shop to install anything I cant figure out with a hanes manual.

Oh and I need some help on the sensor advice. Cause im throwing codes mainly MAF codes

But I dont wanna get ripped off and I dont know exactly what name/brand I need to replace it with.

Also after you replace the sensors do you have to get it tune'd

And last but not least where do you exactly get a "tune" or is it just a tune-up?

Or more of a diagnostics tune?

Rear lower control arms (metco motorsports) mca 0003 lca
Rear upper control arms (metco motorsports) mca 0003 uca
Lakewood 50/50 rear (foxbody) shocks
MOROSO (foxbody) rear progressive rate drag spring

Metco motorsports frame rail connectors

PA racing chromoly tubular k member and adjustable a arms
Maximun motorsports caster camber plates.
I bought these used but I'm pretty sure they are strange adjustable struts and coilovers.

Bolt ons were as follows:
Jlt cold air intake
Accufab upper plenum
Accufab 70 mm Throttle body
Steeda underdrive pullies
Ford racing header (shorties)
BBK offroad H-pipe
dynomax mufflers with dumps at the axle
Ford 4:10 ring and pinion

After tuning the suspension (rear) on street tires at the dragstrip I was able to run a best of 13.78 (with factory upper and t-body). I then wanted more and bolted on a P.I intake with Accufab upper and throttle body and was able to crack off a nice 13.53 after a 1.95 60' on sreet tires. With the addition of P.I cams, e/t streets and weld wheels it took no time to run a high 12.
That combo in full N/A street trim with ported heads, custom cams and ect. was able to run a final 11.90's 1/4 mile before the trans expired on the dyno.
Hope some of this helps you !!!!

The gears shouldnt whine very much at all. If the whining dosent stop take it back to where you got it installed. Whining usually means there isnt enough backlash between the gears. This can cause them to over heat and fry you rear end.

Is the Ford 4:10 ring and pinion all you need to put in gears on a 96 GT?

You can get away with just the ring and pinion but you are much better off replacing the carrier bearings and races, along with the pinion bearing and race with everything out. The bearing and race kit should costs under $50. Just my two cents
