MAF Problem

I am new to the whole Mustang scene, SO far I love driving the car. There is a problem I am having and I hope someone can help me. I have a 98 GT with an exhaust upgrade, BBK intake with a 8mm MAF sensor that is brand new, I had also just found a superchips chip plugged into the computer. Well the problem is that I keep getting a MAF sensor low signal code, even after putting in the new sensor. I have checked the wire from the ECM connector to the MAF connector, There was a little bit of resistance so I tried running my own wires and that didnt even help. When hooked up to a scanner the MAF reads 2.63 g/s and .01 volts. I am at a stand still on what to look at next. Any ideas or personal experiences with the same issue would be much appreciated. Thanks guys.
