Help With Anti-Freeze Leak

I have a 96 mustang gt and I noticed i have a anti-feeze leak. I checked and it looked like it was coming from the oil filter housing. Then I took it to a shop and at first he said it would be $220 to fix. Then he calls and said its the oil cooler and the part is $350 so it would cost $450 to fix. I called Ford and they said the parts was only $300. So I took my car from there to another shop and he said he tighten up 4 bolts and it stoped leaking. Then I took it home and there was a puddle under my car. I never know I had a oil cooler. Any help. I dont want the oil and anti freeze to mix

Yeah you have a cooler, i would yank it down and change the gasket myself. Also check the hoses and hoseclamps. The F-series trucks were known for this problem. So i would expect it from the ponys too. I wouldnt see any need to change the part unless its cracked and only the first person you took it too found it. I would pressure test to get a accurate fix.
