Dyno

How much does it cost to get a tune?

Does this have to be done at a dyno shop?

If not how much is the difference between one at a dyno and one not at a dyno?

As far as price, you can "tune" it youreself with a handheld. Price, i have no idea because i would never buy one. Tune as far as a dyno and yeah thats where you need to get it done, unless you go handheld. Price...I live in New Hampshire and i paid 350 for a Superchip "flip chip" i can have up to 6 tunes with the turn of a knob. That was for the chip and approx. 7 pulls to perfect everything. I know the people and they are great. Usually cost around 75 for a few pulls and to check out a/f ratio and make sure everything is going good. You can expect to pay im guessing 350-500 for a chip and a tune. May be more where other people are.

After you get a tune and get more mods do you have to go back and get another?

Are the tuners hard to use? I dont really know what needs to be doing what as far as percentage wise lol

nHuman, after you get a tune and get more mods you do not have to go back and get another tune, but you certainly should. As you continue to modify you should retune to get the most out of your modifications.

The tuners are not hard to use, they typically come with a few preset tunes ranging from more lenient to more advanced. As you get heavy into your mods you will need to do more advanced tuning which is when you get into taking your car to shops to have them dyno and tune to get the most optimum and efficient performance.
