Youll either need a tune or a calibrated mass air flow sensor.

You can run 80lbs injectors aslong as you have to correct mass air

Your really not running enough mods to have to bump the fuel system up. But if you want to it should work just fine

^ exactly. Your 19 pound injectors are just fine with those mods.

Ok guys I know this post is a little old but did not want to make a new thread about the same oh thing. So I am wanting to upgrade my injectors to 42lb I have a 4" ram air intake with a after market plenum and under drive pullys. I am wanting to know if it will give me a little more HP with the bigger injectors then if I wanted to know if I would be running to rich I am upgradeing the fuil rails and putting a stand alone fuil mangment system then tunning it with 4.10 gears. So would all this work just fine are should I go smaller injecters?

Tyler, going to 42lbs would be a horrible idea.

First off your mods dont even start to push the boundries of the stock fuel system. Second with any injectors you will need a calibrated mass air or a tune. Which will cost around 400+.

If you want you can put 30lbs with a calibrated mass air and your car will run fine. But you will not gain any HP

Injectors are a supporting mod. They give you the ability to make more, but they do not add any power.

Really go spend the money on a Pi swap and youll love life

Hey tyler. Again you really really really dont need 42lbs. 42lbs will get you to 600hp or so. Again your not making 600 or anything close

Also what you need is to find a wrecked 99-04 mustang and take there heads/intake/cams and that alone will net you 260rwhp (total) and have your compression ratio up to around 10:1. Which isnt a bad idea and it bolts straight on!

You really should decide on your long term goal.

Well the diablo chip and the tune will be one in the same. Because all the chip is, is a tune.

With a Pi swap you cant run as big of cams as you could with a non pi swapped gt. With cams iv seen people make about 290rwhp with the full pi swap. I would look into injectors if you are planning on going that far. But again, your going to need a tune when you get the cams.

Also id do some calling around right now. See what the local tuning shops use for there tuning. Some use SCT others use Diablo.

When choosing an injector.. you need to look at your long term plan.. If you will need 60's later on... then get the 60's now.. you can always tune the injector down, but you can do shit when your out of injector. Why buy 42's now and then 60's later.. I dunno about you guys, but I like to buy things once.. just my opinion.

IF you know who to talk to. You can get the 99-04 heads ported to make them flow just like the patriots. Arnt patriots just ported pi heads anyway?

You could go with 60s...hell you could go with 80s just make sure you have a good tuner.

Why oh WHY would you put 42# injectors in this set up. I do not understand why people think that they need huge injectors. The smaller, the better as far as tuning goes. You will gain zero power going with bigger injectors. In fact, unless you swap pumps, you aren't going to be able to use the injectors anywhere close to their potential anyway.....
