AODE and 4R70W

Can anyone tell me what's the difference and which one would be on my 96 gt?

4R70W is on your GT and I am not sure what the AODE is entirely so i'll wait for someone else to answer that one

I believe the AODE was used on later mustangs.

Awwww man. Conflicting info. Oh and are they interchangeable, like can i swap out an AODE and put in a 4r70W without any mods? Thanks for your help.

I am almost positive that you have a 4R70W in your GT and i think they are interchangeable with few modifications

You do not have a AOD and they are very different from each other. The 4R70W is a whole hell of a lot stronger, going to a AOD may fee up a few horsepower but will cost a lot to make as strong as what you have now.

So stick with my 4R70W. The only reason i'm asking is 'cause i'm looking to either rebuilding it(has about 300,000 miles i think and slips) or looking for another one.
