Cool

car is going in for updates and need help

my 98 gt aode is going in the shop to finally have the pi headswap w/cams degreed and springs done as well as 42 lb injectors and a bigger MAM 90mm.
now like most people i'm on a budget i was going to have the Snow water/meth injection kit installed but now i'm thinking that i might be better off gettin a set of freeer flowing headers (shorties) because i'm not looking to replace the entire exhaust system yet. i need to know which headers to use i don't waunt to be changing any rotted out headers in 3 or 4 years down the line they should be stainless and less than $400 (if thats possible) they should also fit not have to be fitted 99-04 headers which is the better for the $$?
thanks, ron

If your putting them on a 98 gt then you need 96-98 shorties, not 99-04. They will match up to the exhaust ports without any problems but were designed for the engine compartment in the 96-98 models. 99-04 headers were designed for the 99-04 engine bay. Most any aftermarket brand will work fine, but I'd definately go with a stainless steel design.

Most Shorties Ive seen fit 96-04. Check out americanmuscle.com. And definitely go stainless if you want them to last
