Pi intake swap tip and advice

Tommrow I am swapping my intake manifold. I was wondering if any of you had some advice for me before I start. I have everything i need together. I mean all the new gaskets and stuff. Im really excited.

Tommarow your either going to hear me going crazy about how great the car feels.

Or your going to get one of those "i broke it" threads.

But yea any tips and tricks would be amazing

be sure to tap the hole for the 2nd temp sensor, if it dont already have it. seen too many people "forget" to do that.

not a 100% sure, but i believe its a 3/8"-18 thread size

let the silicone cure for 24 hrs before starting engine

Yea like me, I did mine on the car...

I have the tap in the garage but to lazy to go check but 3/8-18 sounds right...

12 hours is plenty... um the only thing that went wrong with my swap was when we took out the stock npi water pump line there is a bracket that is bolted on the back of the block ( its a PITA to get to..) and when we put the new line on the bolt got cross threaded so... it was nothing a little extra work couldnt fix but id be careful.
good luck with the swap bro.. Youre gonna loveeee it!

you dont have to take the nipple out unless its too coroded, if its in good shape then you can just replace the O-rings

true that. and dont drop a manifold bolt down those ports or its a bitch to get it out. Wait a like 20 mins after u refill coolant too before cranking.

Ok so,

I was able to get it out with the help of some friends and some ingenuity. After getting it out. Which by the way I had the shitty metal sleeve thing. There were no orings. Its been said that some cars come with the improved nipple and some didnt. Mine didnt

After that it was pretty much a straight swap. It was painfull but doable

It was probobly about 3 hours between RtV and the coolant being put in. Then we cranked her and she started right up. We let her idle for 2-3 minutes to check for anything major. Then we shut her down

Tommarow I hope to make the dyno and see what i make
