Tuning

I was looking at some post's and other related articles on handheld tuners such as diablo and SCT flash tunes, and then I was looking at the 4-bank eliminator chips and was wondering what peoples opinions were. Ive always used my SCT flash tune and it works pretty dam good but then I noticed other people said the chip worked better for them? I know that the chips were primarily used for the 86-93 mustangs because they couldnt use the old style handheld tuners. SOme people said they got better gains using a chip than a tuner. It would seem easier to load a tune onto your handheld rather than having to take out the chip and reprogram it everytime. Anyways is there any differance at all between to two? and on that note what about getting a new ECU? or would the gains not be enough to justify the cost?

Its going to end up being the same exact tune on either of them.

The chip is cheaper but you cant tune it yourself.
The hand held is more expensive but gives you more options, such as tuning and datalogging

i decided to go with the jet performance chip, and i think it is awesome, great performance gains...and it not like you have to take it out weekly, ive taken mine out 3 time in the past 6 years. you can also get a swich that can alow you to change the tune without removing the chip

+1. I either burn the tune to a chip, or an xcal. I won't do chips for 96 and newer cars because the flasher is such a better option, even if used only for its datalogging abilities.
