Buying a tuner

Going to buy a tuner from AM tonight.

Sct the best way to go?

AM the best site to get it from? I'm going to have to have the custom tune it with my 2004 engine and small bolt ons

SCT from AM is all you need to know...let me break it down

1. SCT quality
2. AM customer service, and free shipping
3. Free custom tunes downloaded to you for FREE...oh yeah for LIFE

Shops use handhelds when they do dyno tunes.

You have to pay for the handheld AND a tune when you get a dyno tune. Mine cost 800 total.

So you want to get the brand your shop uses so incase you need a dyno tune they can use what you already have.

Otherwise just go with SCT from AM.

AS for UDP go with the steeda ones. I have those and I know more people who have had to switch to them because the BBk ones didnt last..I dont remember what they said happened to them like they got crushed or something? I'm not sure but I know the steeda ones rock the house

You can.

I would HIGHLY suggest 3.73s.

Ok imagine yourself racing another car just like yours.
Door to door the entire time

Now imagine yourself racing your car but YOU have 3.73s.
You'll be about 2 cars ahead of your car without 3.73s.

Interested?

imo, dont buy used gears, spend the extra cash and get new. you can run into alot of different problems when using used gears, ie, chipping, pitting, corrosion, wear, etc, ect.
the main part is trying to get the backlash set properly, its a pita, because you have to take the amount of wear into account, otherwise it can cause some major problems to the axles and/or trans later on down the road
