smell of gasoline in the cabin...

Hey guys, so I just filled up my gt and this happens every once in a while and always ranges in smell. But does anybody else have the problem after they fill up their they have the smell of gas in the car? It smelled on me today after I filled it but not too bad. Some other times it can make you nauseous. Is there a vent that could be clogged for the gas tank? Thanks for the input.

Maybe when you get in an out at the gas station the ambient smells from the station get in your car

Would need more info like when you smell it driving or just when you get in car after sitting over night etc in order to give you a better clue

It smells right after I fill up, and usually lasts until I get home (about 5 to 10 mins). If the smell was real bad maybe I catch a little hint of it in the morning but that's it.

So the only times you notice the smell is right after filling up? it could be that someone spilled gas at the station and you only notice it in your car is because at the station you expect it, but not inside your car. inn other words, gas vapor is getting in your car when you open the door.

Yeah it's probably that stupid little rubber grommet. The dealerships all over San Diego keep multiple in stock (gee I wonder why) and shouldn't run you anymore than $20

Takes about a half hour to replace.

After I did mine in my first mustang, the gas pouring out the tank stopped when I had over 3/4 tank.

In my 2nd mustang, it stopped the smell of gas fumes every time I fueled up.
