Casper , boomer or any other good "smart ford guy :)&qu

Ok I have decided in june (thats when I will have the best funds and the most equitiy in my car and good credit).

I am going to get either a 99 or 01 cobra , is there any differences in these 2 to make so it I should go with either 1 or the other.

I dont think i'm going to have any SC money for quite some time, cuz i just cant afford to drop 4k in one mod at the moment. I'm just going with LT,mid pipe, full exuast, JLT, 4:10 gears, and a tuner.

Does the 99-01 cobra have the same rear end as the 96GT (use the same gear package).

Im going to crave my insantionable need for massive 0-100 speed by going with a Suzuki GSXR 750

I'm not so much into the cobras, there may be minimal differences between the years. I believe they use different length axles in 99 and up, all solid axle 8.8" ford rears share the same ring and pinion demensions other than the obvious (ratio).

Also I would suggest a 4.30 gear, one thing I know is the 4 valve guys prefer them over the 4.10.

I see your getting GSXR 750, go for the 1000 you won't regret it..lol

No difference in the years. They upgraded the "power" problem the 99's had with a recall and fixed it for the newer years. They are very fun cars. But no differences. I would go for the newer year insted of the 99.

The mods you have planned will be great for you comming from a 96 GT. You will love it. As far as gears go...

The Cobra actually uses a independant rear suspension and it uses half shafts. Not a solid rear end. So if you had gears put in youre 96, there is going to be a cost difference. Youre cobra will be a bit more. As far as 4.30 vs. 4.10's....i dont know if you plan on dragging this thing and like to shift alot. But the 4.30's are amazing at the track with DR's. I guess its up to you if you plan on 4.10's or 30's.

I agree with the 1000....but its an animal. from me going from a 05 GSXR600 to my buddys 06 1000 he bought i wqas amazed at how light the 1000 was and how easy i could throw it around. felt just as light as the 600. and the power band is crazy, made me giggle like a little girl.

I've been somewhat "tossing" around the idea in my head of maybe going with the new body style ram air trans-ams

I cant quite decide between the cobra and the ram air TA :O

I absoultely love mustangs however you dont see very many hooked up TA's looking good and I think having something you dont see often would be quite exciting.

Anyone have any input on the trans-ams?

mustang = my favorite car, but those WS6 T/As are badass, and fast as hell...

you dont even know what you can do to the motors on those things stock haha, i seen one around where i live with exhaust, 100 shot (nos brand), all braided wires, full role cage, short shifter, all internals done, and when he took off, i think i left well....

Yeah man they are just insane. I was running around today with two of them. I wasnt in my Stang, not that that would have mattered, but Personally they dont look good to me, but they have some power. Still personally I would take the Stang over any Firebird or Camaro.

Get the stang if you dont have much money to mod. F-bodys are expensive to mod, especially when you get down to heads and cams. Unless you can do the work youreself.
