Noob question?

I just installed a new shift knob on my auto 98gt. I also found that my O/D wire was no longer attached.

So I went out and bought a toggle switch from walmart. Installed it and my O/D light came back on. My question is am i supposed to have it on well driving or off ?

I haven't seen my O/D light in about 2yrs..

When the light is ON overdrive is OFF. So keep the light off (overdrive on) unless you are racing etc...

Thanks

But just to make sure I get this correct.

If I'm racing my light needs to be on correct?

I always thought it was the other way around.

Right. When the light is ON that indicates that you have your overdrive turned OFF.

They did that cuz having the O/D Light on all the time while normal driving (with overdrive on) would be annoying as hell.
