I dont get the cobra swap thing. Couldnt you GT guys put all the money that you would spend on that swap and build a SOHC that would perform just as well if not better?????

I really dont know. I have a cobra and i hate how expensive everything is for the 4 valve. That swap has to cost at least 5-7 grand when it is all said and done with. I just dont see how the swap would be the best bang for your buck. You could spend that money on heads, cams. or a little block work and have a motor that would make just as much if not more power than a 4 vlave wouldnt you???? I really dont know the answer to this. I never have had a GT so I dont know much about their mods besides bolt on's.

you could have about the same power.. yes.

but why not just bolt all that power in and then mod that?

lol i first read this n was like "now who would want to take a cobra n swap it to a gt!?" lmao but yes it would bolt up but if you have any power your auto wount hold up for to long......you will need a performance auto tranny if you still want auto....but IMO i would get a 6 speed 03-04 cobra tranny to go with it....Iam planing to upgrade to a 6 speed...

you can use a gt ecu, you just have to modify the engine harness for the 4 valve. If you have a auto gt you use the same harness , the bell housing patterns are the same , all but the fwd cars.

elaborate please, unless you are getting the motor for 500-1k its a waste, cobras are only a few thousand more, and the resale is far better. if you dont like it, sell the gt and get a cobra. a 2v is not hard to upgrade, and after you really start spending big money who cares.
